You can heat your swimming pool water with electric pool heaters or with heat pumps. Electric heaters are generally used with smaller pools and can give you especially good results if used with cheap night electricity rates. Heat pumps are more complicated and more expensive devices which on the other side use only very small amounts of electricity to heat your pool. Generally a heat pump will use between one unit of energy (electricity) to produce 4-6 units of energy (heat in your pool water). This is accomplished by physical processes within the device that “suck” the energy out of the air and insert the free heat into you pool. |
