An indoor swimming pool, as well as a luxurious, valuable addition to a house may also be considered a valuable addition to a life style. Water exercise indoors is a great way to increase flexibility, circulation and strength in your body. The convenience of a pool inside your home gives yourself access to a healthier you. Most indoor swimming pools are categorized into two types: Permanent indoor pools and above ground indoor pools. The first thing in planning a permanent indoor pool is to check the site where you plan to dig. Most indoor swimming pool companies offer a site survey to make sure your indoor pool hall will be a safe structure. They also will advise you on indoor swimming pool shape and the use of space.
Permanent indoor pool
Permanent indoor swimming pools can be fashioned in concrete or liner material. The concrete used in indoor pools is designed to withstand the pressure of water and won’t crack easily. The liner pool is installed in two layers: A thermal panel wall is put in first to give the indoor pool its shape. A fixed vinyl liner is then layered on top. The thermal wall will prevent the ground around it from absorbing the indoor pool’s heat.
Above ground indoor pool
It is not the common way but it is also possible to install an above ground indoor pool. It can be as attractive and is often lower in cost than a permanent indoor pool. These pools which come in parts can often be assembled by their owners. The vinyl interior is combined with a metal support system that keeps the pool’s shape. Above ground indoor pools are portable and can change location easily. To give them a permanent pool look, they can be set into an attractive base that covers the outside of the indoor swimming pool.
Once you have made a decision on the type and shape of indoor pool you want, it is important to make sure you have clean water in your pool. A pool’s water filtration system must have a complete water turn around every 4 hours. You need to make sure that your pool’s pumping capacity and filters keeps up with this task. In addition to pumping water, your pool needs to have adequate filters and cleaners. To clean out an indoor swimming pool does not always need to be time consuming as there are automatic pool cleaners on the market to help you with that work.
Why dehumidify the pool hall?
Unlike outdoor pools, indoor swimming pools are not subject to day/night temperature fluctuations, radiated heat to the night sky, and winds to carry away the pool water temperature. However, indoor swimming pools do require room dehumidification to control indoor humidity caused by the large amount of evaporation. Without a proper dehumidification system, high indoor humidity levels will cause numerous problems, including condensation on cold surfaces and rusting of structural components.
I already have a ventilation system why use a dehumidifier?
Thinking that waste ventilation (exhaust fans & make up air) is going to control this environment is the biggest misconception in this industry. You cannot properly maintain 50-60% RH with exhaust fans/ventilation systems due to the varying outdoor air temperatures and humidity. In addition, waste systems have 80% higher operating costs in winter and have no cooling capabilities in summer. Dehumidifiers must be installed to keep indoor swimming pool hall air clean and odorless. A dehumidifier cools the air temperature down to condense the moisture out, and then reheats the air temperature back to room temperature. Since the heat it extracts from the air is equal to the heat it puts back in the air except for a small amount of excess heat converted from the electricity it consumes, a dehumidifier provides virtually no indoor pool heating or room heating.
Can I heat the room air by indoor pool heating?
You can not use indoor pool heating to heat the room. A swimming pool heater will heat the indoor pool water but provide no dehumidification and still require the room to be heated separately. There are some companies that build swimming pool enclosures who tell clients that they do not need a dehumidification system and the heat from the indoor swimming pool will heat the room. There is nothing that is further from the truth. Rather than explain the physics of why it is false, we suggest the following. You want to visit two enclosures under the following conditions, and this is important (A) when the outdoor temperature is below 4°C (40°F) degrees, (B) the indoor swimming pool is at a minimum of 27° (80°F) degrees, and (C) there is no swimming pool cover on the indoor pool. These three conditions must be in play to get a proper assessment of their claims. To sum up you will also need to install an air conditioning system for cooler times of the year to regulate the room temperature. When installing a swimming pool heater keep your regard to the quality. Increased humidity and chlorine can cause defects. As the climate indoors is different we offer pool heaters which meet every demand.
Humidity prevention and indoor swimming pool heating costs
To help reduce evaporation and condensation in your pool hall, use a pool cover when you are not swimming. Keeping the temperature of the room is 1°C (2°F) above the pool water temperature will also minimize evaporation. Because most indoor pools are used year-around and they have no opportunity to gain solar heat, they often have much higher indoor swimming pool heating costs than outdoor pools. The energy required to run the mentioned indoor swimming pool heating and dehumidification systems adds to the cost of operating an indoor pool.
